Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Just sharing some pictures of my 3 Scovies :)

Yang and his 2 Ducks

One of my Ducks enjoying her 'pond'

Yang... my big ol' Drake (that is our Banty roo in the background)

Yang will be a year old next month. The Ducks are going to be 9 months next month. It's funny, the Ducks are still chirping and Yang likes to hiss and wag his tail. They are all living happily with my chickens.

Nice! and yes, that is all drakes do.. hiss/huff.. wag tail lol The ladies oh my goodness when they get going... i swear mine are such a gossipy group.

Going to try with the sun out(which has just disappeared again sigh) to get some new pictures of my latest babies.. now over 4wks oh, my goodness, huge! the one guy is definitely a black and white pied like dad, the other 3? lavender/blue?? there is 1 duck, the rest are drakes certain on that.

Wouldn't you know i'd be enticed again with blue/lavender drakes... fate is being cruel lol

i can't wait to see what the babies will look like lol. my girls are all white and my boy has a little black but the girls have blue eyes and he has gold eyes, i want his eyes and all white babies lol.

All my solid white Scovies have blue eyes. it's such a pretty contrast against the white.

Good grief that is like a nest i had here last year. I was glad NOT To see one like that this year lol
LOL! Have 2 like that. This one has eggs from I think 3 girls in it. Got so full one of the 3 set up next to it with a new nest and the third started her own nest on the porch. At least 4 other nests that I know of in nest boxes. The other half of the girls seem to be nested out in the brush. Time to easter egg hunt for serious. I needed a mix of bloodlines from 3 bases and to cull for size and breastyness for the fall. Sold off several dozen eggs and have people waiting for ducklings. After this round, I have people that can't eat chicken eggs waiting for everything they pop out, the closest farmers markets with duck eggs are more than 30 miles away. I'll let the ducks cater to thier broody natures mostly hatching chickie babies after this round. And apologies to pet people, but the drakes are tastey and there is a strong ethnic local market for that as well.
This is a farm, and while I have favorites, provide good treatment and conditions... I cultivate for food.

This is my unlucky Scovy momma. ... In October 2012 she hatched out a lone duckling out of 14 eggs.Drake. Thursday, she hatched out two ducklings out of 10 eggs, one was special needs and didn't make it. So now Cocoa is raising another lonely only. This one is named Hazel. She's definitely a mule but cute as a button. Hoping she will be a girl so I can keep her... cross your fingers!!
