Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Kids took two of the dogs for a walk the other day and left my border collie mix. She attacked my hen and tore her up some. It's not too bad so I'm hoping she heals. She's got a nest of eggs she just started incubating. The dog attacked my male duck several weeks ago but hasn't bothered them since. She even lays with them. I guess she was bored and upset because she got left home alone. And she's in heat (which is why she had to stay home). She keeps jumping the fence and laying next to the hen now like she feels bad. I don't get it. Crazy dog.
I would never leave a wounded duck next to the dog that actually did the wounding. plus this duck needs to be kept where flies can't get to the wound or you will lose her to fly strike, not a nice way to die.

i fixed the fence so the dog can't get in the pen anymore. I go out several times a day and spray the duck with vetracin. The stuff is amazing. It's only a couple days and i can already see new skin growth. Her wounds aren't red, hot or any bad smell. She's eating and drinking and bathing. I clean her pool twice a day also and added an antibacterial the local feed store recommended. She's pretty content in her nest of eggs for the time being.

Hi, I am not new but been away from BYC for about 8 months. My hubby and I were RV tripping around the USA. We lived in Wittmann AZ. To make a long story short we broke down while in Mississippi and ended up staying in the area of Hattiesburg MS. WE now live in a 5th wheel at the Okatoma Resort and RV park. We are part time park workers and I am the duck wrangler! Most of the ducks I care for are Muscovy. Is this thread the the only one that is dedicated to the Muscovy duck? We have a 4 Peking and the pride and joy of the owner about 12 Mallards I am looking forward to sharing about my ducky wards and learning about ducks more. WE also have a pair of geese that are pretty friendly with the RV people that camp at the park. I care for over 50 ducks altogether. Adding some soon for I have another nest of 20 being set on. And one of 3 that snuck past me. I am trying to get some of the numbers down. Did move to another pond all but 2 of the muscovy drakes and some of the young ducklings are going soon.
Before working as the duck wrangler I didn't like the muscovy now after getting to know them and how sweet the little girls are I am in love with them. The two Drakes we have are real characters also.
WE have a big fishing pond here at the resort and two ponds below us. It is duck heaven!
