Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Well she was being picked on too much, so we had to thin out my flocks last night. I'm very sad. Idk why she was still bleeding.

I have 3 more extra drakes. I really don't want to cull any more. But they do eat a lot and I need the space.

I am keeping the 3 I had mentioned. 2 of my black pied 4.5 month olds aren't very nice. But the one pied 7 month old is very nice and a good protector. Just Elvis is better at protecting everyone than the oldest pied.

So if Truffle and Elvis have ducklings and she looks dark chocolate and he's black, will I maybe get chocolate ducklings?
no you'll get all blacks but the drakes from that cross should carry the chocolate gene breed those back to a chocolate duck and you should get chocolates

What color should it be when it gets older?

It does take blue and chocolate to get blue fawn and lilac. Full dose of blue and a full dose of chocolate for lilac. Full dose of chocolate and half dose of blue for blue fawn.

black, the chocolate could fade but it might not fade as well, also i don't know if you already know this you probably do but you have a barred baby[/quote]yay lol.... could it stay barred or will it go away ?

All of my black ducks have been black and yellow as baby's, but I had one that was solid yellow like that, and I was told by the lady I got them from that he would be choclate, which I fond unlikely since I have no chocolates. he was very pretty as a juvenile, but he turned out to look just like my other blacks, you could no longer tell him apart from them.

This is different than what I was told. I was told lilac is the same as blue fawn, choc and 1 dose of blue. 2 doses of blue with chocolate make buffs. Still trying to learn scovy colors so I could be wrong though, lol. I was told mine were lilacs when I bought them, but have never been able to figure out for sure what color they are, ugh. I would like to find out, to make sure I have them paired up right to make more creams. Love them, the pics don't do them justice. They are a really pretty cream/buff/pale gray in person.

My blue/blue /chocolates look a lot more buff cream than lilac to me?

From left to right blu/blu/choc, blu/choc, choc. My chocolates came from a different breeder than my "lilacs" and creams.
