Hey guys, i have yet another worry. Avian flu. And i am like, really worried because some of my birds have ruffled feathers, and thats one of the signs, i mean ruffled as in messed up feathers even when they preen, i think they have the same activity level, i'm just worried because of that new male that flew in *sigh* what do y'all think, should i take a couple to the vet?

You could take him to the vet, but if he does have the flu, they may kill all your birds to keep it from spreading.
What other signs are you seeing? like miss Lydia said, it might be the cold. I would quarantine the birds that might be at risk just in case though.

I don't think there's any treatment for avian flu. It's a virus, just like the flu in people. Antibiotics might stop a secondary infection, but it won't stop the flu virus.

Yea, that's the big fear, it's hard to stop.

I did read this interesting story once about a Korean man that cured his chickens of bird flew by feeding them fermented kimchi.

Buck I don't think that's what you have it's most likely a more common, curable disease but if you can take them to the vet just to be sure I'm very sorry to here you've got sick biddies :(

I can't quarantine, i have no pen and no room for them, the quartile cage is being used right now by my female with the mass, but the mass is gone but she's week now and she needs to gain her strength,
