well, I have 5 wiggling babies in lockdown on day 34. I hope they hatch. One is internally pipped, the others are not. I noticed the internal pip last night, so he has been internally pipped for almost 24 hours now. Are there others on the thread with incubating experience? How long does it take them to externally pip?

To answer your question, some of mine have taken 24-48 hours to go from inter pip to external pip.

Hey Buck I might be of assistance in catching your killer. Dipping marshmallows in honey is a bait raccoons can't resist and can smell for quite a ways. I've caught several in our have a heart trap this way. If a fox is your issues try a fresh caught fish with a slit belly. Foxes can usually spot traps so camo is a must. If possible put it near a water source so they get less spooked. I was able to relocate a fox with this method before. Hope that helps. It's almost impossible to deter these animals I have the yard surrounded by thorny blackberries and mint with little luck. I also use a ghost pepper mixture with garlic and onions. That only seems to keep the rabbits squirrels opossums and skunks away. Hope it's not a coyote because they are extremely stubborn. My rott/sheppard mix has chased the same one several times in the early AM. Good luck and sorry about your ducks.

thanks i caught a squirrel btw lol i let it go and it was fine just stressed out. for the fox though i probably won't have a heart when i catch it in my have a heart trap because i mean its a fox, there pretty ruthless. does anybody know if its legal to kill a predator out of trapping season in MS if its killing your animals?
