Muscovy keepers share your pics!

I try to breed white head out. It's being a dominant gene doesn't help plus I think most of mine are homozygous. My two males have black heads but my two black females have white two blues have blue heads and I have one blue female with a white head

That's fine if I may ask how long have you been raising muscovy? I've been raising them and other domestics for about 10 years. Yes I know quite a bit about the exotics but I know a lot about domestics too. My favorites are the ripples

I love the ripples also. Here is a pic of my chocolate ripple pair.

Yeah i get that its dominant, and thats so great for me since i love it, i know its not show quality, thats why i don't usually show the ones with the canizie gene, but i just think its looks so regal, well to em that is.

what else i really love is the barred pattern, even after it fades on the wings, you know how there can still be a wee little bit left not their sides, it think it just looks so pretty!

What i usually breed for is of course for show but i have my own little breeding plans like the canizie gene, sen though it is the most easiest gene to pass down along with the dilution gene for black (which makes blue) but i also breed for wingspan because i love it when they fly

Mine were completely accidental. I ordered some hatching from a chocolate flock and got these two as a nice surprise. I currently have some of their eggs about to hatch. Crossing my fingers.

I have 6 eggs from my lovely blach headed blue girl that the eagle took. and my black headed black and white drake. Only about 9 days til hatch. I am sooooo hoping for a couple of blues and blacks. All my other ducks are white or white dominant. :) fingers crossed!!!

Raising my ducklings with chicks has made them really people friendly when they aren't with the chickens they get frightened much easier but the chicks are more courageous and crawl on my hands and nibble at my fingers and the ducks follow in their footsteps it's super cute.Same goes for my adult ducks they must be comforted by the fact the chickens aren't scared so they feel safe because ducks when scared it flows through the flock like a wave but chickens are more mischevious and tend to try and check things out one by one so when the ducks get scared their supported by the unfrightened chicks.
