i don't clean it with apple cider vinegar, its supposed to help get rid of bad bacteria in the crop and gut and help good bacteria thrive. i put 1 tbs per gallon of water in 2 gallon bucket, but ve been having some probs and some questions
Buck corn is not a balanced diet they need more balanced feed. even when free ranging so they are getting all the nutrients they need especially egg layers. Purina game bird show is probably balanced but i would give it too them daily that way they can eat it along with all the other things they are getting in nature.
I only feed corn during winter when it's cold as a snack in the afternoon to keep them warm through the night. i do mix some cracked corn into their feed but it's 100lbs feed to 25 lbs of cracked corn. half of a 50lb bag. mine free range too.
It's out of Virginia Amish grown called SunRise they make a layer that is what I mainly use it's non GMO which I like ,before that I fed Purina Sun Fresh Flock Raiser.
yes i have a pond, and several stream on the property. I don't know what it is, i clean there water every day and twice a week i put in apple cider vinegar, like clean it, scrub the dirt on the sides and everything. When i used to just free range and not put them up at all and they barley got sick. Im so confused about what to do, i'm trying my best to keep them healthy but everything i try just doesn't seem to work.
ISNT THAT SO ANNOYING! I treat my birds every single time they get sick or get parasites or anything AND THEY STILL DIE! And then I talk to the neighbors and their birds are thriving and THEY DONT DO ANYTHING FOR THEM! IM LIKE HKHGYGHBKKPIOYYERWESGCBBJHUTYEWETCHBJUIBHFTE! AGH! So irritating! Same with bunnies it's like I'm trying to hard! AHHHHHHH! The bunnies I have now are the longest living rabbits I've ever owned they always die and the people who have theirs for years don't do anything extra for them at all.And it doesn't help I OCD out on my birds.Im like 100% sure I have OCD especially when it comes to my flock because I get like crazy when they aren't like perfectly healthy my brother yesterday was like,"There is no such thing as perfectly healthy." I was like GUHHGYYKJKGHFYMTYGHFTSTFHGHFHHKKKJUFYRTFTFTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I have a mild case but I definitely think I do but then again I shouldn't self diagnose because I do that a lot I can list off so many diseases my friend called me a germaphobe.I think that's a big out of whack but idk I think it's good I don't want to touch anything that other people touch because I don't want to get sick.....ok maybe she's right a little bit but that's not the point but I do realize that I just don't like them to be unhealthy is all I treat them all like show birds but yet they still get all scruffy looking.I probably shouldn't have drank that coffee that was a bad idea but we didn't have any decaf :/ so now I've got a lot of energy if you can't tell.........

I have 3 other ducks sitting, on probably 40 eggs between them, so I was hoping I wouldn't have a great hatch, but it sounds like I'm about to be over run with ducks.
Mine eat whole corn, layer(that is my chickens...) grower, several grain scratch.... and they are set loose daily and explore acres of land, they eat the spilled sheep feed, horses too lol they are real opportunists these guys oh and the barns cat kibble when they can access it.
Ponds and streams see that is one thing i don't got here.. are any of them contaminated? any problems with run off? these can be wonderful resources when healthy but when they aren't they do cause animals to be ill.
