Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Ok, if you were in my spot what would you do?

After reading all the tips and tricks I do believe it is correct that both of my muscovies are boys.

Those two and my two rouens are extremely tame ducks. I have a pekin and four ancona's who are not nearly as tame.

So in order to keep both muscovies I would need to give up four other ducks to make room for female scovies. But, do i really want to give up my ancona's and switch my focus to the scovies? I can't imagine parting with the muscovies. I really adore them, same with the rouens. However I did really want to focus on Ancona's. The pekin is not attached to us at all and though I like him/her I could part with that one easier than the others.

Help! What would you do?

We knew going in that we would probably have to do some re-arranging once we could sex them. But didn't realize the choice would be so darn hard lol

I'd say both are drakes. I base this on large feet and how the heads look. If you have a good eye, you can see the subtle differences when comparing male & female heads. Hard to describe. Yes, drakes will be larger than their female peers. Try looking at lots of female Muscovy pics & then look at your ducks. You may see what I mean.

well. I bought a baby drake, head looking very boyish. named it miguel - miguelito, and then short ito. my ito is sitting on 13 eggs right now!

3 of my duckies in our dam. :)
Beautiful!
