Found it. Scrimp's daughter, Janet, has a nest she is brooding in the fire pit under all of scrap wood and plywood we were going to burn this weekend. I'm glad I went easter egg hunting this morning and I found her before we decided to light that fire pit up. Lol. At least the plywood scrap has made her a nice roof.

The eggs you gave Katie are all developing too I candled them yesterday. Is Janet broody now? That's cool my poor girl Violet is broody but so is my Easter egger Elaine and she has messed up poor Violets nest, I have her eggs inside in the incubator gonna have to lock Elaine up and give Violet her eggs back they are about to hatch..

Day,fifteen for my broody muscovy.this will be her first time getting to hatch her own baby's.before I didn't have a drake for her so I would take her eggs and replace them with peeking duck eggs.well two weeks before she started setting we got her a drake.well she played twelve eggs and went broody.all twelve where fertile.one had a blood ring and one was cracked that she pushed out the nest.well all ten that she has are still alive and developing.she is about 6_7 years old.she has hard about five broody before this.and she is the best mom.I'm hoping they all hatch for her.

Yep. She and Chrissy managed to fill a nest between last Wednesday and today it seems. Because she was out roaming the yard on Sunday and she was there waiting on breakfast yesterday morning. This morning she didn't come to eat and I haven't found a duck egg in a week. The firepit was clear of eggs of Wednesday when we filled it with wood. So when she didn't show for food I knew she was on a nest somewhere. I'm just glad this time it's in the backyard and the plywood has made a roof for her. Last time she was under a bush in the front yard where the rain water pours off the roof and only half of her eggs hatched. Once we get our pens situated I'm going to have to try to move her out of there. I've never moved a broody duck before. I move my chickens to the garage but they do well with that. She's already lined her nest with feathers too.

I suspect she may have some chicken eggs in there... as my chickens have been really light with their egg payments. I don't think there is any way she and Chrissy could have laid enough eggs for her to decide to sit on them. So tomorrow when we finish our new chicken shack... the silkies get to move into their new home and we're going to move Janet and her nest into the pen the silkies are in now. I was trying to keep all the duck eggs picked up so we wouldn't have to deal with a broody duck and a broody chicken and all of our baby chicks at the SAME time. Lol. Ugh.
