Not a dumb question at all. I have the same question. I do know that barred babies turn out to be the color of their tails. Hopefully someone will answer the rest of your question soonI have a dumb question: how can you all tell what color the ducklings are going to be so early on? Especially with barred and rippled. All I see is fuzz and webs lol.

Barred are the easiest. They are always yellow with a colored tail. They'll probably be fine. It's not uncommon for ducks to sit on eggs that are 3+ weeks old.Hi all. Well I sold my pair of Lilacs. BUT I have eggs in the incubator from them. I dont feel good about them though. They are a little old. I believe they were probably two weeks old when I put them in.
