I have a dumb question: how can you all tell what color the ducklings are going to be so early on? Especially with barred and rippled. All I see is fuzz and webs lol.

Not a dumb question at all. I have the same question. I do know that barred babies turn out to be the color of their tails. Hopefully someone will answer the rest of your question soon

Barred are the easiest. They are always yellow with a colored tail. The color of the tail and bill determine the color they will feather out as.

Ripples aren't as easy as they tend to be black or brown and can be easily mistaken for black or chocolate ducklings. And you won't get barred or rippled babies unless they have 2 copies of the gene
 
Hi all. Well I sold my pair of Lilacs. BUT I have eggs in the incubator from them. I dont feel good about them though. They are a little old. I believe they were probably two weeks old when I put them in.
