As to the other question about a khaki dad, plan on 35 to 38 days.. and also, those that are half Muscovy/khaki cross will be sterile offspring.

from what we've read and learned is they will lay until they feel they have an adequate nest of eggs then they will sit! The eggs don't start to actually incubate until she's sat on them for a day or so, they tend to cover the nest when they're not on it and this helps the eggs not to get to hot in the sun or too cold. There are numerous threads here on byc and I'm sure someone is way more knowledgeable than me, all I can offer is what we learned!! Congrats on 19 that's awesome we only got 6!!!

My ones are hatching today!!!! Later than expected!

3of5 ducklings hatched, at least one more will hatch, the other Im not sure about. It looks like there is 1 male and 2 femals so far if the ducklings follow how mom and dad looked when they were ducklings. When I candled yesterday morning there wasn't any movement or not sure if the ducky died. The other larger eggs in the nest are geese eggs, hoping she'll hatch those as well.

My hen lays another eggs..and this make total egg is 20! I think she will start sit on her egg...cuz i saw her down feathers at the nest..
