Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Hi guys! Finally my scovy sit on her egg! I hope she will hatch some cute babies..since her 1st batch of egg didnt hatch coz during that time my drake are not mature yet to mate with her..now the drake already matured..total count of her egg is 21 egg..previous batch is 14 egg.

I had an odd duckling in my last hatch of 24. This mottled down pattern is new to me. Strangle one side is mostly yellow and the other is mostly dark. Reminds me of pictures of genetic chimeras where one person has two different sets of DNA. They have this checker board zoning effect. In some ways its almost mirror image, one wing tip white one tip dark.
If anyone else has had one like this, I would love to see pictures of it. Duckling and adult. Amazing the variety of colors and patterns in muscovies. I even had a lone barred pop up in this batch, and it was from my lavender female, I guess this means she is split to barred?

Muscovy aren't typically mottled so my guess is you have a mule. Very cute though! And in order to get barred ducklings, you need 2 copies. So your hen and at least one drake carry recessive barred genes

Hey guys, does anyone know when hinny ducks are supposed to start quacking? I had a khaki campbell drake that couldn't keep it to his own species this year and I suppose you know the rest. Right now they're about five weeks old. I'd just assume all the brown ones were his, but the majority of my hens are chocolate and at least one of my muscovy drakes is split to chocolate so we've got a lot of brown ducks running around.

Thank you! That was our other guess as well. She hasnt changed colors much either. But the purple beak threw me off.
I have a pekin that I purchased from a hatchery. She is about 2.5 months old, she is cream, not white! Someone told me that she may be a jumbo Pekin. She IS larger than anyone else. I was told, I haven't seen it yet, that when she does her final adult molt she will be white. We'll see.

That is her in the rear, I don't know if you can really tell how much larger she is, but she is standing by a Cayuga duck

This is her when she was about 7 weeks old, see the cream color?

Good luck!

Sorry, I must be stupid, what is a "hinny" duck?

My Pekin duck started showing me by her quack that she was a she at about 1 month.

don't worry they won't rot!

My ones are hatching today!!!! Later than expected!

Congratulations! As they say, "b

etter late than never."

3of5 ducklings hatched, at least one more will hatch, the other Im not sure about. It looks like there is 1 male and 2 femals so far if the ducklings follow how mom and dad looked when they were ducklings. When I candled yesterday morning there wasn't any movement or not sure if the ducky died. The other larger eggs in the nest are geese eggs, hoping she'll hatch those as well.
Congratulations!

Muscovy colors amaze me. I'm still trying to learn them all, lol. I haven't seen anything like yours in my quest for knowledge but it sure is pretty.
