That is quite an image! Poor fellow. I agree, they do seem to be very hardy and they are smart...almost too smart. lolThank you. My last Drake got old and fat so his last two years the hens would chase him around to be mated, he just wanted to be retired. He must of actually stopped mating because no eggs would hatch during his last year. He was 12 years old. I am surprised at how long my muscovy live. They are very hardy.
What a group of cuties! Charming names, too.Introducing Dewy Louie and Daisy.. Our little moscovy flock![]()

You got some sneaky hens there. You won't often see them out. Mine always come off the nest very early in the morning or at dusk.Well I'm almost positive I have 3 broody girls! Andromida and Saturn were still spending a few hours off nest a day but Saturn looks like she's not moving now! Here are where the silly girls decided to set.
Andromida

I tried to put some bedding close to her but she hasn't really touched any of it yet. She is all the way across yard in the old barn. We planned on starting to revamp it this weekend with breeding/baby/drake jail pens but don't want to disturb her.. poor Neptune has to waddle his but back and forth all day lol.

Venus is in chicken coop under nesting box shelves. I'll probably need advice on what to do with her and chickens later on.

And Venus is still going strong in culvert lol. There is a bunch of garbage in there from previous owners and I was worried about disturbing her but I'm going to try to pull most of it out today.

Shes snuggled in. Please excuse the garbage. We've spent a lot of time cleaning up the yard after moving in but never thought to even look in there. Hopefully I can clean it up without upsetting her. Really hope shes eating. I put food and water by her but haven't actually seen her out yet.

Our place was full of garbage everywhere too when we bought it. Every hole we dig we find something in it so our garbage goes deep.
