Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Here are some wild muscovys ive been feeding for about 6 months. They live in the pond in my back yard and although they aren't mine ive gotten very attached to them.
This momma had 4 ducklings with her last week, now there's only 3 :(

I counted 10, three eggs still not hatched so not sure about them,
I have a guy waiting for them, I won't let them hatch unless I have a home for them, cause I have been over run in the past

@ktrayn I bet that pond has snapping turtles. They are a big predator for water fowl and their babies. Precious scovy's.

@Miss Lynda yes there are a lot of turtles, i see them swim up when i feed the ducks every morning. I dont know how to tell if they are snapping turtles, they dont have those pointed noses though. i just saw the momma, she onky has 2 babies now :( and there was a big hawk flying around close by swooping down near them. I dont know if it was trying to get the babies or looking for fish.

I wish there was a way i could protect them. Last fall i saw a momma with 9 babies, i was so excited. Then 2 days later i saw her with only 4, then days later she had none. I was heartbroken :(

It's a rough life out there in the wild. That's to bad too seems there are preds under water and flying around and 4 legged also. Doesn't seem they would have a chance. Large mouth bass will also take water fowl babies. I guess it's Mother natures way of keeping a balance even though we hate to see this side of her. I'd say some pics you have shown of the Muscovy's are def someones toss aways because they aren't the wild type coloring. We even have feral around here. I keep my Muscovy's wings clipped so they don't end up on the river far away from home.

Was curious about what everyone's opinion on capturing disowned muscovies? Here in NY, it's usually hard for them to survive the winter, yet people dump them at ponds all the time. I have the space and my own flock but was wondering about the legalities of capturing them?

Hi all! Added a new male and female but they're funky colors, would love to hear your opinions. Here's the drake:

They both seems to have faint bars/spots on some of their plumage too.

I'd do it and did it here started my flock off with 3 from our river. Fish and wild life would probably say go for it [although you might check] they are considered invasive every where but Texas.

Waaaahhh thank you! I feel so bad for them. I see pictures posted by local wildlife photography groups saying how beautiful these wild muscovies (...all white ones...?) are in our ponds and I'm like... noooo! Someone dumped these poor things!

Very true not many realize that most we see are dumped. I hope you can help some out by giving them a great home. They didn't ask for the life they now have. We have a feral group here in our area but they aren't in our part of the river much but most are from being dumped or flying off from original home. I have to clip mines wings in the fall after molt don't want to lose them to the river down below.
