Nice Scovies, lauralou.

Lily looks like a character. I really wish I could understand Scovy speak/language.

The kids were making a pond. You can guess how much the ducks LOVED that

A week and a half ago I drove three hours to pick up four more ducklings

Two chocolates, a fawn or buff (?), and a silver with a chocolate head (parents were a chocolate and a silver)

I love muscovy's so far!!! They are so fun

You people make me sick!

I have 3 hens and 2 drakes, 13 new hatchlings, ALL WHITE! I would love to have some colored muscovy.

I did recently get a black and white pied hen who is currently sitting on 18 eggs but the drake I breed her whith is white so maybe I can get a few pied from them.

Maybe some day I will find me a solid color other than white, I love the look of the browns.

Everyone's stories and pictures are great! I'm picking up my first Muscovies this week

. I'm really excited, they seem like interesting birds. Also, I should have some extra ducklings and eggs next week if anyones interested

Thanks Keeper!

Lily is a character. When I take treats out, she just squeals with excitement! It's so funny! None of the others make that particular sound. She's a really sweet and friendly bird.

Also, developments as of this morning. Lifted up the broody chicken that's on 6 chocolate ripple eggs, and she has babies! They were tiny, and some were still wet, so I let her settle back down. I'll try and post pictures of them in the next day or so.

Also have 2 more chickens sitting on the other half dozen of those chocolate ripple eggs, due in a day or so. I split those six eggs up because the first hen was sort of a sloppy sitter, and I didn't really trust her to keep the eggs covered. She's a first timer. So hopefully those will hatch, too.

Ducklings everywhere! Cuteness overload!

Oh, Chocolates, chocolates everywhere!

I am hoping to get a chocolate of some sort one of these days.

Great pic's princess m.

Now I am a bit jelous, lauralou. Chocolate ripple is, imo, the ultimate in Chocolate Scovy colors.

I will now go and admire my pretty Scovies and be thankful for them.

Don't be jealous, Keeper! Your scovies are beautiful! Those barred juveniles are truly stunning.

I do like the ripples, though I think I prefer the dark ripples to the chocolate ripples. I sold the ripple pair in the picture, which is why the eggs are under chickens. I thought that I needed to get rid of them to make room for the new cream and lavender pair. Then I built another duckhouse and pen anyway. Hmmm.... Poor planning strikes again.

But I definitely have some babies from them. There are at least 2 out of the shell already. Oh gosh, they are adorable! So tiny! The eggs were the first pullet eggs that the little hen ever laid. Just a little bigger than a chicken egg.

Too bad you live so far away, or I could fix you up with some cute little chocolate ripple ducklings. The color/pattern really is interesting. You just don't see them every day.

Thanks, lauralou.

Too bad the barring doesn't stay defined. I just went out & took a look at them and right now I can see them fm my office window hang'n in the side yard foraging in the grass and amongst my very large peony. They discovered the water bowl I leave out for our cats while they are outdoors and keep muddying it up which the cats do not appreciate. lol

Yes, too bad is right and I agree you don't see the color pattern everyday. Thanks for the thought though.

Kats, pretty bunch of Scovies you have. My problem is I want to keep too many of them. They are all just so cute, in spite of the mess they make of our carport and driveway.
