Muscovy keepers share your pics!

I can't help you on the color, but it's adorable and the parents...

Not sure what color this duckling is yet, but its not white. Perhaps its a recessive gene that has appeared. It almost looks like it has silver on its tips. We may just have to wait a month till it feathers out. If it turns out to be a mule, we will just have dinner. If it is a pure Muscovy, I am hoping its a standard color so we can show it.

The shipper figured it out. Her father helped gather eggs and accidentally sent a mixed breed mallard type egg.

I'm a first time duck owner and was wondering what is the best age to let them free roam. I am very protective of them and always around when they are out and they come in the house at night because their night time area isn't finished yet.

I have the mums so my babies have been free ranging since about 2wks old roughly... but without a mum to guide them i'd wait till they are bigger/older... also you have to evaluate your predator daytime risk.

How old are they? My 1mth olds(9 of them lol) are free ranging but mum is with them and she is still very guarded .. has yet to allow most of the flock to come near without chasing them off.

Larger one is 9 weeks old and the two younger ones are about to be 6 weeks old. When they are out they run straight to the house and sit on the deck wanting to be let in the house. They wont go 20 feet from the house

I was guessing I should wait till they have their wing feathers in so they have a chance, or even build a day time run so I don't have to worry to much
