Probably no broody duck till next spring but thats soon enough isn't it?Im hoping someone will go broody, especially now that all three are layingGod only knows I have enough broody breeds lol. My Scovies, my Silkies, my mix hens...![]()
I don't think they intentionally fly away from home, but they do fly and get lost. I clip my Muscovies one wing. and yes they will roost in a tree on on a roof if given the chance, but just like all domestic animals they should have secure shelter for the night to protect them from predators.will muscovies sometimes fly away from their home? And do they like to perch up high in trees or on the roof?
Yea, that would be amazing because then I could get eggs at Chickenstock for her to hatch. I really want a colorful bird basket LOL, a colorful egg basket is just an afterthoughtProbably no broody duck till next spring but thats soon enough isn't it?
Well there is a young Muscovy down the road from me that just appeared there this week, she can fly real good because I tried to walk up to her, I have a feeling she flew away from home and most likely won't go back, I would love to bring her here but she won't let me get close. I think thats how alot of them end up at lakes and ponds. There is a mt. river below us and she flies down to it, but I see her up by the busy road too which makes me very nervous for her.yes, i was just wondering how high or far away from home they would perch. I love them but they are not the duck for me- because of the flying thing.
They will fly far enough away to get lost... at least my hen Jadzia didyes, i was just wondering how high or far away from home they would perch. I love them but they are not the duck for me- because of the flying thing.
