What a nice surprise you'll have come hatch day.Tried and failed she bit me and the male attacked my backside, all in the dark. She kind of lurched on her eggs, so I hope none broke. Might just have to take her word for it.
Mine are sitting on fake eggs right now Buck, they have no idea.and I use washable makers and most people just just reg ones never had any problems at all.
Well actually they did have a real egg under them but only for a half day. Doesn't matter though I believe once they go broody they'd sit on snake eggs.Yeah but didn't she start laying on the fertile ones before you replaced them?
Some washable markers still have toxins , just make sure that if there kid friendly then their egg friendly
If you can take a paper towel and wipe them the do that is not just let them alone, it's amazing what ducklings can hatch through. including poop. but it may get smelling and bacteria can begin to grow if alot so your just going to have to remove her and her eggs to a safe place and clean out her nest leaving any nesting material that is still okay and add new too it making sure to mix it real good. when i have had to remove my broody and her eggs i put her into a dog crate with bedding and close the door, then just put her and the eggs back into the nest,. Some may say to leave it along but when it warms up that is going to be awful smelly if it's broody poop. usually they have a reason for doing that, either afraid or a warning to stay away. This might not be good she just craped on her eggs a little bit. Will this kill all the eggs
