Omlet auto door issues?

If it helps anyone to make a decision, I have loved my original omlet autodoor (no wifi) and it’s been working great for over three years. I have never even had to change the batteries, even in many winters of -20c (it’s just 10% battery now though, so the time is coming this week!). I suggest taking back the wifi ones and doing the original until they figure out their issues.

i love the wifi, actually, and this was the first problem i had. it's working fine now. also, there was just an app update. i wonder if they were working on it and it made things go wonky? i don't know anything about updating apps, so i am only guessing.

App update seems likely.

I remember when it took Fitbit a full week to get their stuff together after a poorly executed update. It happens.

I have some smart bulbs where the company went out of business and so they aren't making updates. Alexa updated, they didn't, product stopped working. It's always a risk with these things.

The thing I like about the WiFi version is that I can look at my cameras and if they’re all in the run I can remotely close the door and lock them out of the coop for cleaning. (Once they see me coming they all run into the coop and then I have to coax them into the run.) When I’m done with the coop I remotely open the door, call them in, then shut the door so I can tend to the run without anyone escaping or having to step around them to get my work done in there. It’s a perk and makes my life just a little easier.
