Does anyone know why "adult males" would start having drooping wings and weak legs and finally die. At first it was only the white ones and now the colored alpha, 2years old, is having this issue. I changed feed, gave niacin, gave protein, nothing seems to change. None of the other poultry or female muscovies are having this issue.. They are free range on my property with chickens, mallards and guinea fowl.

He is currently isolated with his mate who is brooding in a separate 20'x24' pen..no change it's been 4 days...if his problems isn't fixed he will die like the rest of the males.

I have never seen this with my Muscovy drakes but that is sad. Is a vet feasiable maybe blood work would show up something. Be great to know before any more hatch. Also maybe @casportpony can help she has scovy and has quite a lot of knowledge on diseases. Very sorry for your losses.

Thank you Miss Lydia... no one has seen this either on the internet. The vets here where I live are useless...small town money hungry no action vets... Thank you I will try and figure out what @casportpony is to connect to and ask thanks!

They have always had a mix of layer, scratch, sometimes corn, and they free range...have access to weeds, and bermuda grasses...plenty of water, periodically I give them alfalfa from the goats bales. These muscovy males are the only ones with this issue. I have a 1 yr old male still okay, but now it's the alpha male with the same symptoms. His poop is kinds runny and green.. I don't understand why just the males

OH I also tried more protein (cat food) and tried brewers yeast, nothing. Asked if I should put bleach in the water as I read it was okay for ducks...maybe that would clean his insides out.

The layer has too much calcium for non-layers, so that's one possibility. The green poop could be from not eating or an infection. If I had one this sick I would start by getting a baseline weight, tube fluids, then tube fluids with food. I would also probably treat for worms, mites and lice, coccidiosis, and bacterial infection.

I am in New Mexico my goats have never had any parasites, mites, lice or worms or infectious issues...neither do my hens, roosters, female muscovies, mallards, or guinea fowl. That was the process of elimination for me with the males...I stopped for a few weeks on the layer and they still died. Should I put oxytetracycline in his water? I have some of that...but the brooding hen also uses that water
