I figured that since they free range and eat lots of bugs, which muscovies have that as their natural feed, they are just getting some of the scratch and wild bird seed, but not a lot. My guineas eat it for years now and free range and they are fine as well as my mallards and hens and roo's.
I only feed once a day..so they aren't over fed either..oh and the crumble they really don't eat much of it because it seems a lot of it is powder when thrown on the ground...LOL

I can relate to that living in a small town to.
Too much calcium for your boys and non-layers.
Lots of people feed just scratch and bird seed, but it's not good for them and can cause other health issues, like fatty liver syndrome.
