How long do Muscovy ducks raise their ducklings before they breed again for the next clutch. I have two ducks one hatched her babies 5 days ago and another just started setting full-time 2 days ago on 20 eggs. Searched the duck threads but did not see a related answer. So if anybody has experience breeding Muscovy and let them set on each clutch I'd like to hear how long before they are receptive to breeding and will think about the next clutch.

If you leave them alone and let them raise them as long as they want, they generally stay with the babies until they are 2 1/2 to 3 months old. And then, depending on what time of the year it is, they may or may not lay eggs and start over.

But if you take the babies from them (whether its now or in a few weeks) they will usually start laying again in 3-4 weeks
