I'm trying to build a new roost for my muscovies, but can't really find much information about height or how much space per bird( which is probably different between males and females). Does anyone have any ideas?

I know that I'll have to have a bar that's only 1-1.5' off the ground for my drake with a messed up wing, since that's as high as he can jump.

They most likely won't use it all the time. The only time my drake would jump that high was when his offspring were chasing him down. Then he would jump on top of a smaller coop in the run. They really like to perch on large stumps though. I would get a nice tree branch and use that give them about 12" each. Plus, I would add large stumps if you can.

My Muscovy hens prefer to roost on the side of the horse stall door or walls (maybe 3 feet high?) at night, and they enjoy stumps (maybe 1 and 1/2 feet high?) to relax/preen on during the day. They do not like rounded surfaces to stand on as they can’t grip like chickens.

They are so pretty.
Thank you! The bottom picture is of them at 12-ish weeks of age when they first figured out that their wings were good for something. It’s sweet that they still hang out together on the same spot 3+ years later! I hope they will be able to do so for many years to come. I hate to think about what will happen if I lose one :(
