Mushroom foragers

I thought you all would appreciate this. Its A gift from a friend, a little Keychain shaped like a mushroom with a very sharp curved blade and little brush for cleaning mushrooms. View attachment 1809186

I thought I found a puffball but it was just a short stemmed mushroom that I don't know whether or not it is edible.

The rain has brought the oyster mushrooms back.

Even on a rotted post.

There were lots of delicious Shaggy Manes but now the area is so overgrown I can't find any of them.

First year picking/foraging mushrooms. Just learned what a chantrelle mushroom is. Been told this year is pretty slow but for me i thought i have been doing great. Been getting about 2-3 lbs each for an hour picking them.

That's great! We learned about Chanterelles last year and found a massive patch of them. We still have plenty in the freezer. Cook some in a skillet with either walnuts or chopped almonds and some Maple syrup for a yummy snack!

I pulled some chicken of the woods our the freezer for lunch today. I love that stuff!

Beautiful Goldens!! Out here, we get a similar species that is black. Still very delicious.

Black Chanterelles would be so strange to see! We have the golden ones here
