henny I'd say we're probably the same. But it depends a lot on warm rains.

Ah, okay, I wasn't sure. I'm not sure how good the season will be here, as we've had a crazy mild winter.

I'm going to risk the deer ticks this year and try finding a few morels, I've tried a few times and was largely disappointed. Too brown, too camouflaged.

It's definitely worth a try! I kinda grew up "hunting" morels, so it's pretty easy for me to find them. We take a lot of people out with us though that haven't hunted them before, and it seems like it can be difficult for them. Once you find one though, I think it gets easier.

I think ours starts last week of April until first week of May then runs until last week, or a tad less, I am trying to think when the lilacs bloom...

Interesting! Your starts a little earlier than ours.

For starting late last year, I really like it. When our season is done, I am going to Togo to get the late Morel season and as I understand they have a black Morel up there. You might too though.

We used to hunt turkeys near whitewater state park first week of may. Beautiful time of year. And the locals were selling bags of morels for $30. Walnut, and oak trees in the park.

Black walnut ? Good because I planted 2 at the lake .
