Mushroom foragers

Pics
I have 20 inches of snow in my yard,,,,,,,,talking about back to winter....and it is suppose to snow for another 16-18 hours.
I have a few small spots of snow but the grass is green. The real short mustard is in full bloom. There are crocuses blooming, a daffodil has a bud and the tulips are coming up. I even have a noxious weed coming up in the asparagus patch (rhubarb seedling).

For reasons that are not going to be explained I am digging up an area in the garden and unfortunately having to dig through the logs that I buried there to help the sand retain moisture. One of the logs has really good massive mycelium growth. I have no idea what kind of mushroom will come from it but I am going to make sure that I bury it again to keep it growing.

Last year on April 17 I picked a basket of morels, yesterday I scraped 2" of snow off my truck and it looks like we are at least a warm week away from any morels around here. Snow in the forecast again for tomorrow. I may run a couple hours south this weekend and see if I can hunt up a few black morels.

Yup woke up this morning with thin layer of snow ugg I feel like spring is never officially get here lol

Define thin, I am down to a thin layer now too, I bet it is almost under 8 inches in some spots..........

Do the lakes still have 3 ft of ice on them there too?

for some reason I find it hard to feel sympathy for a thin layer of snow...... But I agree spring feels like it will never get here.

Oh it’s a very thin layer of snow maybe was an inch it’s gonna melt quick..but with this 60 then 30’s then 70 then back in 30’s rain and snow weather it’s like a huge pig pen muddy wet and mucky...I’m in NW Ohio Defiance to be exact.. Ohio weather you can experience all four seasons in a week it’s crazy lol..no lakes right here...but some not far away in Indiana and Michigan..we got some good rivers though and they ice free...impatiently waiting for a decent day go kayaking it’s either too cold with or without snow, raining,or too windy..the few nice days we’ve had building duck pen and getting yard ready for spring...I know it’s here we have buds on trees etc I’m just NOT fond of Ohio weather...I’d rather be in Texas but obligations hold me here for now
