Mushroom foragers

Pics
We picked the morels yesterday from our spot out in the back woods. This is what a tiny, tiny shred of a ridge on a morel looks like under a microscope. :) I thought it was pretty cool.

Morel season is mostly done here . I was not looking but found some wood ear and witches butter . Just can not convince myself to try them . That jelly texture put me off .

With all the hot weather and dry winds all of the oyster mushrooms had dried up to nothing. It started raining last night (first precipitation this month) and continued most of today. The oyster mushrooms exploded overnight here. The ones I picked were really waterlogged and took longer than normal to cook but they were delicious.
