You'll have to keep it separate somehow. It's caused by a bacteria which can (and usually will) infect all the others. It will probably kill quite a few of them if you can't keep it separate. Can you put up a wire divider in the brooder? Are any of your eggs pipped? You'll have to clean up the mess before any more hatch.I don't. I have only the one in incubator and one brooder.
Did you get the chick out yet?Yes, several have pipped and one is actively hatching.
Glad you got him out. I really don't know what else to tell you. @WVduckchick @Pyxis @BirdsBeesTrees can any of you help?Ok, got him out and cleaned him up. It looks like poop to me. I was able to get most of it off without causing distress to him. He does seem to have an issue with one of his wings. I put him back in the incubator. He seems to be really struggling. Not able to be up right. I also quickly cleaned up the incubator to get rid of the yuck. Hoping my other chicks are ok.
Aw, thanks! We learn something new everyday! Lol.I think you've covered everything @MGG .I've never even heard of mushy chick before today and would have classified deaths as failure to survive.
