Hi there - we have two young Great Horned Owls feeding nightly on our 3 week old baby Muskovy ducks. (Started with 18, now down to 9!) One survived an attack however we don’t think it will be a productive life at all (likely maimed neck) if she even makes it. Any ideas on the most humane way to put her down if she doesn’t improve? Deeply saddened but we don’t want her suffering either. Thanks

Welcome to BYC ! :frowYou may have to protect your flock by keeping them inside a coop at night .
Excellent idea! They follow is for feeding time, thus we will just attempt to coral them up in the coop. My husband did build a platform/cover for them near the pond but they are not taking advantage of it at night. Their two mommas are trying to protect them but they are dwindling. Thanks!

Hello, Amy, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I've had my neighbor shoot my chickens that were hopelessly injured or ill for me.
You need to lock up your ducks in a predator proof coop every night to protect them from more than just GHOs.
