So my black orpington hasn't laid an egg for about 10 to 11 months. She is only about 1.5 years old. She was laying very well then one day just stopped laying eggs. We ended up finding a large breast wound which we treated her for and then a little after that had a severe case of bumble feet on both feet. She is a lot better but just never went back to egg laying. We just figured she was no longer laying eggs and that was it.
Well starting about 2 week ago she started going in and out of the nesting box, kicking out the girls that were below there and doing the pre I gotta lay an egg song. But nothing... then suddenly today we got this!!! It weighs 2.9 ounces!!! It's the big one in the middle! It must have hurt. How do they lay such big eggs!??!!?
