MUST you tip the loaders at the feed store?

No, I do not tip anyone in our feed store. They make enought off me with all the feed I buy, since its a family run business.Last time I was in Subway, I noticed a tip jar at the register, sorry I don't tip them either. At a restaurant, Yes I tip, and since we usualy go to the same places most of the time, we usually get good service since we do tip well.I have worked as a waitress and its a HARD job,with low pay, so you depend on the tips to make up for the difference in pay.Also I tip my hairdresser, since I get a shampoo, cut and style for $8.00 and its worth more than that to me since she does it just like I want. marrie

Tipping the loaders is not done here in Minnesota,at least not that I've seen. But $8.00 for a shampoo,cut and style? thats a heck of a deal. at great Clips here it is $14.00 for just a haircut-no shampoo or style included in that price !!.

I don't tip/have never seen anyone tip the loaders at either feed store in town.
One store I go to for bagged feed, you back right up to the loading dock, they use a hand cart to bring out your bags, and load it in. They never act like they are expecting a tip.
The other store is where I tend to buy a lot of hay, and they load the truck for you (75+ lb bales). Again, I've never tipped, or seen anyone else tip them. Unless you count the times I've helped teach the newbies the proper way to buck a hay bale! They don't really like getting help from a 5'1" 130 pound female, but I figure it's rude to watch the bale kick their butts. LOL Honestly, if they'd let me load my own hay it would be faster 95% of the time.

My brother worked in a Feed Store in Western Montana for many years, so I asked him about tips.....he laughed. Said he never had one or even thought about getting one. Waitresses, bartenders and hairdressers get them. But not feed store loaders.
