Any thoughts as to what jumped the fence, and what he might have landed on ? Thanks

maybe a Dark Cornish x RIR?
or like someone said, a wyandotte cross... with RIR
or maybe a buckeye cross... Idk just some thoughts.

When I saw the picture, dark cornish was my first thought. ETA: not pure, but I have no idea what else is in him.

Yeah, I was automatically thinking hatchery-quality cornish cross. With those legs and chest - Has to be. And the tail makes me think production red in there too, who knows.

My roo is a cross from Father:BSL x GSL and mother is either BSL or GSL. But Mine is different than yours as it has a straight comb and the hackle and saddle feathers are lighter. But I don't think hatcheries use Cornish to make Sexlinks. That's not to say yours doesn't have because it is possible. Any Ideas on the mother of roo?

Hello All, My entire flock are rescues from a flock of 200+ birds that were left to free range after their flockmaster passed away. There is no way to determine the parentage of any of my birds. My question was one of curiosity. Sonny ( the roo pictured ) is just coming into his own and it's decision time. I think his crop was very full at the time of the pic, his chest aint quite that big normally.

Thanks, Mark
