wait so a barred hen crossed with something will only throw barred males? like a sexlink trait? only the hens though not the roos.

I also have a wonderful hen that i have no clue what she is crossed with.

I'm planing on crossing my br with all my others to get a more winter hardy bird.

Barred males will produce all chicks with some barring. Barred females bred to solid males will throw barred sons.

Here is dumplin (straight featherd) and Grace her sister (frizzle). The father was a gorgeous light brahma and the mother was a hatchery quality red frizzle cochin.

This is Bleu, his father was a white cochin bantam and his mom is a pumpkin colored mixed breed bantam

I think the mutts are some of the prettiest birds! Wish I could keep a rooster and try to make some mutts myself!
