Mutts! Lets See Em!

Here is on of my favorite mixes:

Serama X D'uccle. She has the d'uccle head and mille coloring on it, but she is very short like her serama mama. He mom is a black mottled though - not sure where the peach color came from.

This is Ferdinand, a Buff Orpington/Lt. Brahma mix. He's 9 weeks old, and his tail is still very short, just fluff - but it looks all white. I hope he gets some black tail feathers, too. He's muddy, 'cause we've had days and days of rainstorms. The black lacing on his neck is his coloring. The dark areas on his breast and legs are dried mud. He is really all white with black lacing on his neck. He and the only other LB cross were the last of 15 hatchlings to feather out. Is this common with the LB?

This is Miss Priss, a very inquisitive and friendly pullet. She is Ferdinand's hatch mate and is half BO, half Australorp. She is growing on me with her personality and is becoming a favorite.

Are you judging by the comb or something else? I know her comb is big, but I actually have 3 of these, and they were the first to feather out and have long, straight tails. Her tail is a little droopy looking because it was wet and muddy in this picture. Don't some hens have big combs? I have other roos the same age who are obvious roos - took a long time to feather out, large red combs and wattles, and the tail that goes up and curves down. Oh, and Miss Priss' legs are thin compared to the roos.

Now you have me a little worried!

Here's two of my favorite mixbreed roos:

This is Caesar, my oldest roo. He's half Langshan (or so my uncle, who I bought them from as chicks, told me). Notice his legs are feathered. I named him Caesar because his colors reminded me of the crown and dress of Roman emperors.

And this is Midnight, the "Alpha male" of the flock, half Black Australorp, and the most colorful, IMO. I love how his entire back is gold/gold-laced.

I'm sure you've all seen my Angela before, she's a Fawn Silver Duckwing OEG/Gold Campine OEG cross (still a OEG though, not technically a mutt)

Isadora, OEGB (unknown color)/golden sebright

And a little cockerel (Pyle OEGB father and Red shoulder Yokohama mother). He's probably gonna look like a red pyle yokohama, I can see the color of his growing hackles
