I can't wait to release the ducks into the garden. That should be fun. Most of what I planted that they'd eat is stuff I planted for the chickens anyway.

I scattered the egg shells just tonight. I'll put out DE tomorrow.

I found a much larger snail about a week ago. The chooks couldn't figure it out so I smushed it, pulled it out of the shell, and then watched the pursuit.

Redsquirrel - I offered the snail to the younger chickens first (our flocks are separate for now until the babies get a bit bigger). They weren't sure what to do. Finally, my blue cochin chick grabbed the snail & ran off to devour it. I knew I liked that bird.

Thanks for the laugh. We don't have snails here - but managed to find one under a rock and the girls went nuts! I guess they are following in my foot steps - we love Escargot and have it all the time.
