groan...don't tempt me...I have no chickens right now...your Houdans put me in the want/gotta have mode...I have been toying with the idea of ordering some Blue Andelusions...not sure of the spelling but I love the blue color in all birds...your Houdans are gorgeous...

Good, I did wonder because sometimes the pictures hide toes. I miss my houdan. I have tried two sets of eggs now with no chicks yet.

I was going to say both girls but then looking at the difference in head feathers and having just bought a sultan hen yesterday (has the same hairdo!) my hen has a round head. The males were less rounded. There is a possibility the one with the more pointed feathers in the crest could be a male

thanx duck walk - I have one hatchery blue andalusian (had 3 but two were roosters - and altho they were gorgeous they had to go!!) and she is pretty altho lighter than she is supposed to be (she is very silvery) - I love the unusual/rare varieties

so far these Houdans are more personable - but they are just babies and the babies are always spoiled

becky3086 - so you had a houdan? what was your experience? did yours lay well (or was it a roo)? I hope you get another (I am guessing you are doing eggs from a breeder? let me know how your next batch goes...)

Larkspur99- ooohhhh sultans - I almost got sultans with this order from Ideal (when I got my houdans/brabanters/lf barred cochins) but I figured I would wait til next year (houdands & sultans only came in straight run & I have a thing against all white birds.... but sultans just sound so neat) I would love to see pics/hear about your sultan!

I had a trio I was breeding (pictures of them are on the breed pages here although I have better pictures of them somewhere) and several chicks, all killed by one raccoon. I also had lots of Polish, all gone as well.
