I have three 10 week old females, 2 Marans and 1 Ameraucana. They are all together and the other 2 do not show any symptoms. All 3 are strong, growing, eating and drink excellent. My one Marans has and inner eye lid that is always showing, she sneezes (snorts) and shakes her head. Her poop is very soft and orange. Also, she has small sheets of what looks like dead skin under her wings. Other wise she is feisty and happy. I have treated her with antibiotic eye cream because I thought maybe it

was starting with the inner eye lid always showing. Also, VetRX oil under her wings (straight) and a solution of it for her nostrils. Last thing was nebulizinig with Oxine. I first noticed her symptoms about 2 weeks ago. I've had them for about 6 weeks now. Anyone recognize this skin issue or her other symptoms? What else can I do? Thank you for your help.

Can you post some photos of the eye?
Any photos of the poop?

Did you notice if she had any injury under the wing? The only time I've seen sheets of skin like that is when they are healing from injury.

Thank you for your interest Wyorp Rock. Sorry, the poop has sand, but I haven't seen anything crawling in it. You can see the color is orange. Lea, my sick chicken is in front of the 3. She will take any opportunity to shut her eyes fully. She snorts and scratches her neck and beak, like maybe she has something lodged? I even saw a very small bit of blood from her one of her nostrils, one time. What do you think I can do? Everyone - thanks in advance.

Does she have any mucous that comes from her nostrils regularly?
What do you feed?

Check inside her beak for any plaques, lesions or obstructions. The eye, it could be genetic, but I would lean more toward some type of infection or respiratory illness unless you find debris in it.

Check her over well for any external parasites (lice/mites) and see that she is drinking/eating well. General care for the eye would be to flush with saline and apply an ophthalmic ointment like Terramycin, Vetericyn eye gel or similar.

She may benefit from extra poultry vitamins a couple of times a week. If you have a vet that can examine her and/or study the excess skin shedding that would be a good idea.

When examining inside the beak check the chonal slit as shown in this thread:

Look for anything like this inside the beak as well.

Thank you so much for you help. No mucous running out. Maybe that's why her poop in orange, she's swallowing the mucous. Looks like she has an unpleasant experience ahead of her. Hopefully I don't botch it up too bad. Thanks again!
