My 1st coop attempt (with pics)

Great looking coop! It looks similar to ours, but yours is bigger, I wish we had made ours larger because I now want to add more chickens. This is a picture of ours. The front panel that has the ramp opens and one of the sides opens. We put the window on front for ventilation and the corrugated roof lets air in as well.

Laura (Greenmulberry),
If you go to page 2 and look close at the 1st pic you may see the hinges a little. I'll try to explain it a little untill I can post a better pic of it. On the 2x4 that are the legs I put the hinges on the side and used 3 inch screws and screwed them into the 2 inch side of the 2x4's. Then on the doors I bolted the other side of the hinges to the door after I put on the 1x4 trim pieces. (and grinded off the excess) That way the trim boards are supporting all the weight of the door and not the chip board which would just wallow out after time.

Hope that helps.

I also need to update this with a couple more new pics since I have it fenced in now but I haven't done the gate yet. I still have the excess roll of chicken wire propped up and wired to the side corner to keep it closed so the chickies don't get out. I just unhook the piece of wire from the fencing and move the roll out of the way a little and go in then rehook it back after I am in there.
