I may be wrong in this and I am sure someone will gladly correct me if I am wrong. A purple egg is actually a brown egg with a heavy bloom on it. So in reality any brown egg laying hen could give you a purple egg. It may actually be a defect in the sense that to much bloom was put on the egg. Hope that helps.Do blue orp lay anything fancy?
