My 1st Southern Coop

You know, I've thought about that, and that is a great point.
Now that you mention it, and depending on how much welded wire I have to use, I may try to go down and out instead of straight down.
I think this will work well, especially of I could use some of the logs in the back yard, rocks, or maybe even railroad spikes (etc.) to anchor it in the ground at certain points.
Do you think this will work better? It does make sense!

I use landscape staples (they're about 4 inches long) to anchor my apron. The grass has grown up through it and anchored it even more.

Duly noted.
I will definitely keep those little items in mind.
That sounds like the ticket with an apron!

I appreciate it! I'll try to update when I make, at least, substantial progress, which can be hard to come by during the week sometimes.
Work sure saps the energy out of me. Too bad I'm not getting paid to build this thing.

Ha-ha.....

Hey you wanna come up here and dig at least six inches without hitting shail???? And once you hit shail it its nothing but shail for who knows how deep....I would take clay over shail ANY day......I had to dig 4 foot in to shail to put up a CB/TV antenna....IT SUCKED...

So please quit complaning about digging into clay.....Its almost like torture to me.....

Thank you so much!
I thought that spot would turn out pretty well, shielded from behind by some trees, while given ample coverage over top from several tall oaks, poplars, and other trees. Hopefully it will keep the winter chill to a minimum as well as the summer heat.
I can't wait to get the little suckers out there and out of the garage.
