My 2 week old Copper Maran chick has a very swollen vent.

Yesterday I noticed that my Black Copper Maran chick has a swollen vent. She is two weeks old. There is no pasting up, but the rump is wet and swollen. I ran her butt under warm water today to clean and soothe the area. She seems distressed, but she is eating and drinking. I saw her poop and it was normal. Is there anything else I can do for her, and what is causing her vent to be so swollen?

I don't think there is much you can do for her. I would keep a sharp eye on her and continue cleaning the vent. Make sure she is getting plenty of food and water

I would use Preparation H as it is supposed to shrink swollen mucous membranes. It will also help if she does start pasting up.
