I didn't open the quitters, but I know where they are. Good idea! If I get a good pic of the comb on "fudgie" you can tell it's a boy.

I'm sorry you obviously aren't breeding silkies of quality!

The really ironic thing to me is that I have silkie eggs in the bator right now that I don't want, that I got for free, and I actually saw the parent stock in person. Wish you were around the corner from me, I'd hand them over happily.

OMG you had me going there for a minute....I thought I had done that and then I thought WAIT I did not send any silkie eggs then realized that was the NAME not me!!! LOL

Fudgie is definately not a silkie.....Cute little thing but no silkie! He does not even have feathers on the feet!

Someone needs an education lesson here!

Ok I opened the quitters and they were all sweet little white silkies...

Looks like several died when I moved to the hatcher (yolks not absorbed), and 2 just never pipped out?

Well the PO scrambled the first set I purchased, but this set was all on me. Obviously I did something very wrong!

The chicks were fully formed, they were obviously fine in the incubator, but the hatcher was a death chamber!

So I'm making sure all my ventilation holes have plenty of room, even the ones on the bottom. And I think I'll run my humidity a smidge lower until they pip (I've been running the humidity at around 35% during incubation). I put another thermometer in to check on the temp and the thermometer I have in there seems to be the same.
