My 20 Chicks dead From fox

All 20 of my chicks are dead from a fox. They were Wyandottes aged 8 weeks. I have decided to begin with adult birds this time, and let a couple hens hatch and raise chicks for me. I was considering the following breeds:
Brahma
Wyandotte
Cuckoo Maline
What is each like?

Sorry to hear about your chicks. I'm not sure about those breeds. I do however think the cuckoo malines are very nice looking birds.

I have a Brahma Rooster and Orpington Hens...I cross them..Excellent Broody Hens..very winter hardy...Docile and friendly...Nice big birds....

Have an update: Quail were killed too. Pesky foxes! Now to get new quail and chickens. I may end up going with 'mutt' chickens. Mixed chickens but all from Heritage breeds.

Totally predator proof all pens....Other than that your the Foxes best friend...It will continue to come back....

Chicken coop is fox proofed, however the quail coop isn't. I made the mistake of free ranging my chicks

Thank you. I should be getting 4 backyard mix hens and a rooster soon, I will share pictures once they are settled in.
