She is only 3 weeks old. She was fine last night when we entire to bed. This morning she has her eyes closed, using her head like a kickstand, hanging down on the floor. I tried warm egg yolk but she won’t take it.
How have you been trying to give her the yolk? I see you have a syringe. Can you put a very small amount along the side of her beak (right along the split)? The yolk should naturally work its way in, and she should swallow it.
I'm not sure if this is wry neck or something else, but I'd prioritize getting some food and moisture in her.
Is her head stuck down or crooked, or is her neck limp? Can you hold her neck up? I would try to get her drinking some fluids or electrolytes. Chicks who have a twisted neck up, down, or to the side have wry neck (torticolis,) which as a neurological symptom. It can be caused by a vitamin E or B1 thiamine deficiency, a head or neck injury, and may be seen in some diseases in older birds. Treatment includes hand feeding watery chick feed with a little cooked egg, and give human vitain E 400 IU and human B complex 1/4 tablet daily mixed in food. Egg contains selenium which helps the vitamins.
