My 4 week'ers and one big 8 week'er **PIC HEAVY**

1, 3, and 6 are roosters.
I ALWAYS, unwillingly, get attached to my baby roosters!
And it always happens before I know that they are roosters!

We had 5 eggs hatch, and I think that 4 are roosters! They are almost 5 weeks old now. 2 I can tell are definitely roos... the other 3, I am not sure about still yet.

thanks!!!

what about #4 tho??? The Barred Rock....is it a roo or pullet?? The comb seems to say roo...but their are hardly any signs of wattels??????????.

The barred rocks look a little dark to be roos. My roos lightened up soon after feathering. They never grew that dark. If I had to guess, they are pullets, that might have a little more comb then average. The coloring is just not right to be a roo in those pics

Besides being darker, your BRs also have the dark wash down the front of their legs - another trait that most hatchery BR pullets have.

My BR pullets at 7-8 weeks of age:

I think they're all boys except #2 & #7...sorry. The 1st one looks like an EE boy...he's going to be a looker!
