That's what I was hoping for too wildsky... when I googled it.
I had a cyst on my ring finger though I never wear rings and that's what they did...drained it with a needle and had me wear a splint for a little bit.

I'm somewhat surprised they needed to do an MRI. Even with mine on my neck, the doctor just felt it, he actually used the needle to see if he could get some of whatever it was to send for testing - and that is when we got the GOOD news that it was just a cyst.. and he drained it right away.
mayo just likes to use all their fancy machines maybe?
wonder if they even needed to do the mri?
our emails went from brady and saying what it was to her asking about our cousins wedding and that my mom and 2 sisters went to it in Boston a day ago and she's all upset that no one told her everyone was going.... and then somehow we got on the conversation about her dog's unusual behavior.
Popliteal cysts are often not seen or felt until they rupture on their own, in which case you get severe knee pain that then goes away. When I had an MRI a couple weeks ago to check out for possible ACL tear the incidental finding was a popliteal cyst with evidence of precious rupture.
So the MRI would be conclusive as to what the lump was and popliteal cysts are common
