I haven't gotten much done lately.. I'm Hoping to band chicks and possibly set some Cochin eggs this weekend.
With track starting i don't get home until 5:30 until March 13 where I will start getting home around 6. This is the time of the year i call, "Cold supper", "No supper", or "little supper" because by time I get home from track I'm outside until 8 every night

Gary, and 2 blue pullets in the makeshift pen that leads into sort of a coop.

Black Cockerel and Black Drizzle Pullet. A blue hen is also supposed to be in there but her and the cockerel don't get along at the monent.

Black Frizzle Pullet. She usually hates me but sat here the whole time while i took a nap

Did a lit today, cleaned coop, brooder, and Cochin cages, put a makeshift cochin area together. I have an idea of what i want to build for the cochins this summer. All of the chicks are doing good and are becoming really active.

Still waiting for this pullet to start laying... she was acting yesterday so i am hoping today is the day

The chicks are getting big and I am still waiting to find the NNs I will be taking for the market trio.

It was really windy, cold, and snowed and rained here all day. The Cochins stayed inside all day as I did not want them outside in the weather, BLF-1 and BLF-2 both layed and I am still waiting on BLF-3 to start laying. I am hoping they are all laying by time March 25 so that I can participate in the Easter Hatchalong! After I get done posting this I am going to draw up some plans for what I want to build for the Cochins this year and hopefully I can get it posted on here within the next day or two.

Checked fertility in BLF-3 eggs and she is 100% fertile to BLFM!!

I am getting a bunch of new birds! Well not that many but they are expensive. I will definently be showing some of these!
So here's the list
1× Icelandic Pullet
1× Icelandic Cockerel
1× Bielfelder Pullet
1× Bielfelder Cock
1× Bresse Cockerel
3× Bresse Pullets
2× Naked Neck hens
2× Red Sex Link Hens
3× Svart Hona x Isbar crossed not sure on gender.
1× Swedish Flower Hen Cock
1× Swedish Flower Hen Pullet
1× Cuckoo Maran Hen


I am also getting transport boxes, an incubator, large dog kennel, smaller dog kennel, feeders and Waterers.


And so now your thinking wow you're going to go broke well.......................... This person is moving and cannot take the chickens with her and she is giving everything to me for free!! Of course I am giving her some money though

I haven't posted in here for a while!


Here are some of mine taken the last 2 days. They are 3 weeks and 1 day today

And then some of the cochins of course. I started collecting eggs for hatching yesterday, but did not get a single egg today

And of course the lighting sucked so this pullet looks way lighter then she actually is..

Here Are the pens I am getting the eggs for hatching from. Next time I am switching all birds to the black cockerel excpet the blue hen, she will go with the Frizzle and I will have some chicks I can sell right away from them.
