My 4H Shows 2017

I realized I haven't posted in here for a while. So the fair is this week I'm doing 1 dozen Brown and white eggs. And for poultry I'm doing Black Cochin Cockerel, Black Frizzle Cochin Pullet, Blue Cochin Pullet, and a Partridge Chantecler Hen, and I am using the blue Cochin for showmanship. My younger sister is taking a Bielefelder hen and using my Chantecler for showmanship.
My sister and I washed the Chantecler, Bielefelder and Frizzle yesterday and today we're doing the 2 remaining cochins.
I had to drop some of the things i wanted to to because of a volleyball camp...

Results from county fair

Blue Cochin Pullet
Grand Champion Senior Showmanship
Grand Champion Pullet
Reserve Champion Junior Showmanship with my younger sister
Reserve Champion Overall she lost to a pretty good Australorp in terms of body and head, it's legs weren't the right color, and looked like to have scale mites. The Pullet also lost because she had a few woodchips in her thigh feathers.

Black Cochin Cockerel
Grand Champion Cockerel

Partridge Chantecler Hen
Reserve Champion Hen

Black Frizzle Cochin Pullet
Technically got Reserve Champion Pullet but our county has a rule that 2 birds from the same person cannot win reserve and Grand. So it was given to a pretty nice looking 4 month RIR

can you help them with advice on how to prep their orpington for the show and fix this tail feather issue? it looks like a grooming issue to me but then again I haven't won Grand Champion Pullet at the Fair !!
Best,
Karen

I finished trimming birds for the state fair today. I may bathe the 2 pullets today since they are not to dirty. The cockerel on the other hand gets so dirty so I will bathe him tomorrow or Thursday

I can not believe that tomorrow I am heading to state fair! I am so excited to go!
On a bad note my frizzle died on Tuesday. No idea why it was one of the weirdest deaths I have ever seen in a chicken. I had her in front of the house in the grass and she was walking around she was totally fine. I got done washing the first pullet bent down to grab the frizzle and she started seizures and died. These were some of the most erratic and strong seizures I have ever seen a bird have. She had no symptoms before.
