You aren't expecting much out of two puppies then, are you?

Have you not done any research at all? ANY LGD is not considered truly grown and matured until 18 months to 2 years old. Expecting your 4 month old puppies to automatically guard your livestock, just because they happen to be an LGD breed, is plain ridiculous. People like you are the reason why shelters and rescues are full of perfectly good dogs.

This is true, i got my girl when she was 5 months old as a rehome, they said she would not stay with the stock, well she was locked in the barn with a horse some chickens and goats when i got there ,figured i was half way there she was already good with livestock.

By time she was a year old she was a full fledge LSG and i could not have what i do if not for her and her companions.

My girl wants to play with the chickens while the male is perfectly calm with everything. We work the girl along side our male and with a muzzle on her so she can be off lead. They are fastervthan us, so the muzzle when she is being trained allows us to reenforce good and correct the bad w/o the worry of her grabbing one. The link below is where we ordered from. Good luck, don't give up on the training.
