Greystone is a 6 months old rooster of a shamo breed. He was alright 5-6 days back when he started limping and when we checked his claws, we found that he had little wounds on plantar surface so we thought may be he has developed bumble foot and started treating it accordingly but now its been 4th or 5th day that he is not standing at all and when we try to stand him up his legs tremble alot and that made me realize that may be we did not notice it but his legs were weak from the begining as Now I remember he was way to scared to jump even onto a bike and somehow if he did climb any bike, he would never jump down it and someone would had to take him down. Moreover his legs would tremble alot and someone pointed it for us that he is weak so we should feed him crushed almonds and that we did for a while But then he developed this condition. He is eating fine (we feed him dough of a wheat flour and red rice as a basic feed) treats include cucumber, parsley, boiled rice, tomatoes etc.

PS: He is not lethargic at all and eats fine and drinks fine. Its just that he doesnt even try to stand even if we help him up.

I’m not sure if this is the cause of his issues, but I think he may desperately need some protein. Can you cut up some sort of meat into little bites for him? Would you be willing and able to provide a complete poultry feed for him?

Yes I am willing to provide whatever he needs as a basic feed and I do feed him meat occasionally but I thought it wasnt healthy for him. What poultry feed should I give him?

I don’t have rooster experience, but I am pretty sure an “all flock” type feed would be good. He might also benefit from poultry vitamins to help him through his illness. Do you know if he was vaccinated for Marek’s?

No I dont think so that he was vaccinated at all but marek's include other symptoms as well right? And where can I get an all flock type feed? From poultry farms? What is included in such feeds?

He looks pretty thin/malnourished. Is his keel (breast) bone protruding compared to your other chickens?

I'd try getting some scrambled eggs into him. It's high in protein and fats, and if he has a vitamin B deficiency, will go some way to help normalise that (which almonds will also help with). I'd also try a premium feed with animal meatmeal if you can source it (if not, mix with fishmeal).

When was he last treated for worms and cocci? Can you get some Amprolium / Corid to treat him?

Okay Thankyou. I'll try to get this medicine as well as do nutritional change in his diet from now on. I didnt treat him for worms as It got cured with home remedies like garlic water and apple cider vinegar and pumpkin seeds.

You cured worms with home remedies? What type of worms? ACV / garlic / pumpkin seeds won't kill internal parasites and at the very best may kill eggs.

If you've had a worm infestation in any member of your flock, the whole flock needs to be treated with a specialised chemical dewormer medication such as levamisole, ivermectin, or albendazole.
